8 Japandi Wallpapers for Your Feature Wall

Born from the fusion of Japanese and Scandinavian interior design styles, Japandi is currently one of the most popular styles of interior design. As both styles are inherently minimal in their own right, it was bound to be a match made in heaven. Personally, I love Japandi interior designs as they bring some personality and character which can easily be lost with many ultra-minimal spaces.

A great way of introducing the Japandi style is by taking a Scandi interior and adding a Japanese mural, for example this excellent collection. Below I have rounded up my 8 favourite murals which can help you refresh your existing space into a completely different style with just one easy trick!

8. Turner Lucerne by Graham & Brown

A really pared-back palette leaving just a subtle texture on your wall. Turner Lucerne is a very considered palette with very detailed watercolour textures.

7. Birdie by Giffywalls

A sweeping statement! The gold swallows really drive home the Japanese influences, and the detailed background is a great texture to build on.

6. Bamboo by WallpaperMural

More incredibly detailed texture... 'Bamboo' takes the distinctive bamboo leaf shape and spreads this as a huge silhouette on your wall with a lovey canvas backdrop.

5. Paper Mountains by Rebel Walls

Subtle watercolours create an ombré effect on your wall, whilst retaining excellent close up detail.

4. Hokusai Maru by WallpaperMural

Inspired by the great wave, this genius circular design creates an even bigger feature out of you feature wall!

3. Bamboo Mural by Dunelm

This mural is a little brighter if you need that lift in your room. The greens and blues are very light and complement neutral rooms and greys.

2. Bamboo Forest by Etsy

More pared-back palettes, this mural is a neutral colour masterpiece with Japanese motifs to boot.

1. Kanagawa by WallpaperMural

My all-time favourite - I love the pastel-esque colours and the modernisation of the classic Great Wave artwork.

During my interior design career I have learnt to appreciate space, and minimal interiors, however I always sprinkle some personality in with my designs. I like interesting fabrics, which may look like a solid colour from afar but up close have sumptuous detail. This is why each of these murals have appealed to me, the delicious textures and fine details which you notice up close. It is this kind of thing which sets apart a nice interior from an incredible space - details.

Happy designing!
